Jane Mowat. Silver Jewellery.
I find inspiration from my woodcuts and prints, and am drawn to making these tiny forms - tiny compared to my other work. Making them in sterling silver adds to the feeling of preciousness.
The originals of three of the forms - Flying Figure, Hands reaching Up, and Flying Angel - were made in silver by a master silver smith, a friend of mine, and once a mould was taken they were cast in silver in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham.
All the other pieces are made by myself, carved initially in wax, and then cast using the ‘lost wax’ process, again in Birmingham. All are bear my hallmark.
The smaller pieces can be worn either as a brooch or a pendant (chain not provided). The larger ones can be worn as a pendant or mounted and framed as an ‘object d’art’.
Prices fluctuate depending on the market value of silver; the prices below give an idea of the price.
Postage within the UK, within Europe, and Worldwide varies, so if you’re interested in a piece, please do this by email in the first instance.
Not all the pieces are immediately available, so this is another reason to contact me.
